Signed & numbered
All boxes are limited editions of 200 or less and are signed &numbered. Wood species The wood species, or combination of species, can be chosen from the wood lists provided in the site by the buyer (check for availability of wood, if making your own choice.) If not specified, I will make the choice at the time of crafting dictated by your preference of light wood, dark wood, etc. "A" designates wood that is harvested only in small pieces and is used exclusively as accents and is usually "E" expensive compared to other more common wood species. African wenge is currently rare and expensive (not endangered) because of the ongoing political unrest in that the country of origin (Congo). Box Interiors All boxes have suede attached to the inside bottom of interiors, drawers and trays. Colors available are black, or green. If the suede color is not specified whatever color I have at the time of crafting, will be used. Finish & care Inside each box is a folded card listing the wood species used in the box, along with a small sample of the woods glued to the card. Wood care (finish) instructions are printed on the card. I use two finishes, they are either: multiple coats of shellac with two coats of wax or multiple coats of polymerized tung oil with two coats of wax. I list on the tag as to which finish is used. Both finishes are smooth and luxurious, but are somewhat susceptible to water spotting, so cleaning should not be done with water, but with something like Endust, Pledge (it's not as bad as you might have heard), or a new coat of some sort of furniture wax. Do not use things like lemon oil or furniture polishes as they contain oils which attract dirt and grit and will degrade the finish. A fresh coat of good furniture wax can be applied about once a year to maintain the original sheen. Warranty All boxes are warranted to be free from defects in workmanship for one year. Should you have a problem with a lid or drawer that is due to workmanship it will be repaired at no cost to you including shipping. Call or e-mail your intent to return a box for repair (do not return a box without prior notice), for further instructions on packing etc. If upon return and inspection the box is damaged from misuse or accident, I will give a written estimate of the repair. You are then responsible for all repair and shipping costs. Special note about the close fit of lids and drawers These boxes have unbelievably close fitting lids and drawers, a very important element in their appeal and specialness. Because of that fact, when the weather changes dramatically, either hot and humid or cold and dry, the lids and drawers may suddenly fit tighter or looser , this is a normal reaction of the different thicknesses of the wood parts. Please allow a few days for all parts of the box to equalize to the new conditions, before calling to send it back for an adjustment to a lid or drawer. The lids and drawers will be looser in the winter and tighter in the summer, that's part of the charm of wood, it's an ever changing material. Shipping costs Shipping charges are not included in the above pricing. Items will be shipped by standard ground UPS shipping. Exact costs of shipping will be charged to the order, in addition to the above pricing. How to order Select the "buy now" button above which transfers you to PayPal, a secure site for paying. Print out the box order form and fax/mail or phone your order (260-693-9801) with all the necessary information about wood, size, ordering number of the box, name, address, e-mail, etc. 25% of total order amount is required at time of order, remaining 75% is due when ready to ship.
